* In Direct mode, the LED on the rift stays orange and no image appears on its screen.
* The Rift works fine in extended mode (other than it being a PITA to get the window lined up). Here is the official problem this thread is referring to (please don't post other problems here): Direct or Extended mode don't make a difference. The demo launches and runs, but the Rift never goes blue or displays anything. This is NOT the "I panicked when I saw the orange light and never got to launching the demo" Issue. Please note this problem identification is just for the "CURRENT PROBLEM DEFINITION" below, not the other problems mentioned as 'similar' in this thread.
#KILLER E2200 GIGABIT ETHERNET CONTROLLER ORANGE LIGHT UPDATE#
I am hunting down a single-GPU rig now to test with and will update here when done. It looks like this is definitely going to boil down to a problem with Optimus (the dual-GPU tech used in laptops with Intel and NVidia GPUs to save power). I am starting a new thread to track this now that it's a known issue, to see if the community can come up with a fix (since it seems like Oculus doesn't care so much about us mobile users now that they have their money). Oculus support has identified this as almost certainly being an issue with Optimus and/or laptops in general.įrustratingly enough, they are saying they don't know when or even IF a fix will be available, and you can almost here them throwing their hands up and saying "Welp, YOU'RE screwed."
